Silk Road Jeep Safari
We will commence our trip with the sightseeing of the twin cities of Rawalpindi / Islamabad from Rawal Dam. The journey over the Karakoram Highway (the Eighth Wonder of the world) is spectacular. Stopping over Besham for lunch and then over night stay in Chilas. Can have a good view of Nanga Parbat (the sleeping beauty) and a slight break at the junction point of the three great mountain ranges (the Karakoram, Himalaya and the Hindukush) on our way to Gilgit.
A very busy day in Gilgit. ” Near Gilgit is the Kargha Buddha, a 7th century relic of the area’s Buddhist past, carved out of solid rock?
Driving to Karimabad the towering giants of the Karakoram mountains such as Rakaposhi (7790 M), Diran Peak (7270 M) and the Ulter Peak (7390 M) make one feel high and good. While traveling up to the Khunjarab (the Pak/Chinese border at 4730M) the view of Pamirs to the North, Hindukush to the west and the Karakoram to the south is great.
